Is HIIT Worth The Hype?

Have you been thinking “Should I incorporate HIIT into my workout routine?”. HIIT workouts have been gaining popularity over in recent years but are they worth all the hype? Here’s what we think. HIIT is considered by many to be the most efficient exercise training technique in the world. According to ACSM’s worldwide survey of fitness trends for 2015, high-intensity interval training is one of the top two highest priorities for health club members. I’m sure you’ve heard of HIIT, but if you haven’t, here is a quick recap. High-Intensity Interval Training is a system of structuring timing and effort during a workout session. The benefits of HIIT training include increased metabolism, calorie burn, strength, and endurance. It consists of repeated intervals of short duration, high-intensity bouts alternating with intervals of lower intensity recovery periods. The structure of the intervals can vary widely depending on the application or goals of the individual. One of the more common ratios is 2:1, indicating that the ‘recovery’ interval is twice as long as the ‘work’ interval. A typical HIIT workout usually lasts about 20-30 minutes and this structure can be applied to cardiovascular (for example, alternating sprints with jogging) or strength-focused (for example, push-ups or box jumps) exercises. Anyone can use a HIIT approach, because the ‘high intensity’ is based on their own fitness levels, making it appropriate for almost anyone. The Cybex SPARC is revolutionizing HIIT workouts with its unique design. SPARC is simply incomparable to traditional functional training exercise equipment. Patented arcuate motion reduces strain on hips, knees and ankles. Minimizing perceived exertion, SPARC encourages harder work. Built with security, stability and durability in mind. SPARC is an acronym for strength, power, accelerated, resistance and cardio. These 5 characteristics combine to mark the SPARC as the gold standard for HIIT training equipment. The SPARC has many unique features that make it outstanding for HIIT workouts. In the resisted cardio category, SPARC aggressively differentiates itself from rowers, steppers, spin bikes, etc. with sprint-like mechanics in a non-impact environment. It is biomechanically engineered design to be gentler on joints, and a superior choice for long-term health. The manually adjusted incline can be set to 3 distinct positions allowing for a flexible workout. The option for additional resistance mechanism offers resistance at slower strides. Lastly, it’s easy to use console makes it user-friendly for even the least tech minded. Give the SPARC a try and in five minutes you’ll lose fat, build muscle, gain strength, increase metabolism, and improve power. It’s sure to get your heart pumping.
